Privacy Policy

1. Our commitment
Dispute Nerds ("we," "us," or "our") provides AI-powered software that helps you analyze your credit reports and prepare dispute correspondence. Because the Service handles sensitive financial information, we design it to collect the minimum data needed and to keep that data private to you. This Privacy Policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have.
We do not sell your credit report data or personal information to third parties.
2. Information we collect
Information you provide
- Account information: name, email address, and password (stored as a one-way hash) when you register.
- Payment information: billing details processed by our payment provider. We do not store full card numbers on our servers.
- Your credit data: credit reports and documents you choose to upload for analysis.
- Correspondence and inputs: answers you give the interview engine, dispute drafts you approve, and notes you add.
Information collected automatically
- Usage data: pages viewed, features used, and device/browser information, used to operate and improve the Service.
- Cookies and similar technologies: used for authentication, security, and remembering your preferences.
3. How we use your information
- To provide, operate, and maintain the Service;
- To analyze uploaded credit reports and generate dispute suggestions and correspondence drafts for your review;
- To authenticate you and secure your account;
- To process payments and manage your subscription;
- To provide support and respond to your requests;
- To detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, and security issues;
- To improve and develop features — including using de-identified or aggregated data to improve our AI models, never in a way that reveals your identity or specific account details to third parties.
- To comply with legal obligations.
4. How we share information
We share your information only as described here or as required by law. We do not sell your personal or credit data.
- Service providers: trusted vendors that help us operate — such as hosting, authentication, payments, and email delivery. They process data only on our behalf and under contractual obligations.
- Partner links: when you use a partner link (for example, to obtain a credit report), the partner receives information you provide directly to it. That interaction is governed by the partner's own privacy policy.
- Legal compliance: we may disclose information when required by law or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Dispute Nerds, our users, or others.
- Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, we may transfer information subject to the confidentiality of this Policy.
5. How we store and protect your data
Your credit reports and uploaded documents are stored in private, access-controlled storage tied to your account. Access is restricted to authorized personnel and only as needed to operate the Service. We use encryption in transit and at rest.
We never ask you for, and do not store, your SmartCredit®, bureau, or other provider login credentials. An official partner API connection may be offered in the future, which would operate with your explicit, separate consent.
No method of storage or transmission is fully secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security, but we work to protect your information using reasonable safeguards.
6. Data retention
We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. You may delete your account and request deletion of Your Content at any time; we will remove it within a reasonable period, except where we are required to retain it for legal, accounting, or security purposes. Aggregated or de-identified data may be retained indefinitely.
7. Your privacy rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you;
- Export a copy of your data;
- Withdraw consent to certain processing;
- Opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information;
- Object to or restrict certain processing.
You can manage many of these choices from your account settings. To make a request, email support@disputenerds.com. We will verify your identity before processing a request.
8. U.S. state privacy notices
Residents of states with specific privacy laws (such as California, Virginia, Colorado, and Connecticut) have the rights described above. We do not sell personal information as defined by those laws. Where applicable, you may designate an authorized agent to make requests on your behalf.
9. Children's privacy
The Service is not directed to anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
10. International users
The Service is operated from the United States. If you access it from outside the U.S., your information is processed and stored in the U.S. and subject to U.S. law. By using the Service, you consent to that transfer.
11. Cookies
We use cookies and similar technologies for authentication, security, and functionality. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling them may limit some features.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version here with a new "Last updated" date. Material changes will be communicated through the Service. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
